players missing, they finished with 3 straight wins to earn a
t-shirt for winning their Power Division consolation
bracket. The U16s were hit hard by illness over the
weekend and played without two players on Saturday. They
finished 3rd in their first pool with a victory over the
Jaguars. The 17s also played without an injured player

Camps U18 Tournament a Big Success
Chattaroy,
WA (02/13/05) Thanks to the volunteer efforts of numerous U17
parents, players and family members, the inaugural 24 Team U18
tournament was a big success. A special thanks to the
U16 parents who stepped in and and volunteered on the day of
the tournament after the U16 team was brought in to replace a
team that dropped from the tournament at the last minute. We
also had a couple U14 players and three U12 players (and moms)
who helped out. We truly had a club-wide effort in
"pulling this off"! Thanks again for all of
the help!! The U17s placed 9th out of 24 and the U16s
who were playing short-handed (and with very little warning)
finished tied for 9th in the consolation bracket.
Sideout
16's 5th in Gold Division at February Power League Tourney
Rosalia,
WA (02/09/2005) - The Sideout 16's finished second in pool
play with victories over Club Eclipse and VIP Jrs U15 and a
3-game loss to Moscow. Sideout then fell to Players in the
first round of bracket play to finish 5th in the Gold
Division. The 16's next tournament will be the Northwest
Jamboree in Yakima, February 26th and 27th.
Sideout
U17's Place 3rd at VIP Block Party
Spokane
Valley,
WA (01/23/2005) - The Sideout 17's won their pool with
victories over Nitro, Palouse Jrs and Crimson Crush.
Sideout then defeated a tall, talented Moscow team in the
quarter-finals, setting up a semi-final match against Columbia
Jrs. Black. The Columbia Jrs. team, who also towered
over Sideout, won game one easily behind their powerful
hitting attack and tough blocking. Sideout made some key
defensive adjustments and was able to pull out an exciting
victory in game two to force a deciding game three. In
the final game, Columbia's size and strong play proved too
much for the smaller "never say die" Sideout U17s
who played the entire tournament with two injured players on
the sidelines. The Columbia Jrs. Black team went on to
finish the day as the tournament champions.
The
Sideout U17's will next be in action at the 24 team
Sideout/NBC Camps U18 tournament on February 13th.

Sideout
Teams Play Well at the Yakima Jamboree
Yakima,
WA (02/28 - 02/29/2004) - All three Sideout VBC teams
performed well at the Jamboree. The best teams in the
Pacific Northwest participate in this tourney every
year. This year was no exception. To
recap...
U16's
- 6th out of 80 teams (32 power, 48 challenge). Sideout
defeated some of the premier clubs from the Pacific Northwest
and lost some close matches to others. Four of Sideout's
losses came to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place teams in the
tournament.
U14's
- 10th out of 64 teams (32 power, 32 challenge). One
loss at an inopportune time kept the 14's out of the the top
8. The 14's also defeated teams from clubs that they've
never defeated before.
U12's
-
15th place - not sure of number of teams. The 12's lost
two of their first three matches to very talented and
experienced teams (Nike Northwest Air Elite, for one), then
went on to win three matches in a row, before losing their
final match. The 12's had a very good experience
overall, and had some huge improvements take place. We
are proud of this group that has only one player with previous
club experience!! Here's a picture of the Sideout VBC
U12 team...
