U17 Coach – Lacey Anderson

Lacey returns to the Sideout Volleyball coaching staff for the 2009/10 club season as the head coach of the Sideout U17 team.  Last year Lacey was the assistant coach for the Sideout U16 team that won the Region title, along with several other U16 and U18 tournaments.  The highlight of the season was winning the Open Division at the Emerald Classic tournament in Seattle .  The team capped the season by finishing in 10th place at the Volleyball Festival in Phoenix , Arizona . 

Lacey graduated from Mead High School in 2005 where she was a two-time State Volleyball champion as a setter.  Lacey was named to the GSL All League First-Team her senior year.  Lacey played for Splash, Mead HGP and Players Volleyball Clubs.  She also played at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene , Idaho and worked as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach at Mead High School in 2007.

U16 Head Coach – Nate Wright

Nate returns to the Sideout Volleyball coaching staff for the 2009/10 club season after serving as head coach of the Sideout U14 team that finished the 2009 regular season with a record of 47-2. The team finished 1st in 7 tournaments, including a U16 tournament and also won the Region Championship.  Nate has coached club volleyball for 13 years for various clubs in the Spokane area.

Nate was the JV coach for Gonzaga Prep in 2007 with his team winning the JV league title.  Nate coached for G-Prep for five years as the freshman or junior varsity coach.   Nate began playing volleyball as a high school student at Central Valley High School .  He played on a boys’ club volleyball team that qualified for Nationals all four years.  In addition to coaching, Nate continues to play volleyball in the Spokane area.

U16 Asst. Coach – Lindsay Niemeier

Lindsey Niemeier joins the Sideout Volleyball Club as the assistant coach of the Sideout U16 team.  Lindsey is currently a freshman setter at Eastern Washington University where she is redshirting.  Lindsey was a three year varsity setter at Shadle Park High School and in her senior season helped lead the Highlanders to the 3A State Volleyball Championship.  Lindsay was also a varsity basketball starter, playing on a team that finished second in the state tournament her senior year.  In addition, Lindsay competed at the varsity level in track three seasons at Shadle High School .  Lindsey played club volleyball in the Spokane area for Spokane Sky, Sideout and Splash.

U15 Coach – Jamie Pancho

Jamie Pancho joins the Sideout Volleyball club for the 2009/10 season as the head coach of the U15 team.  Jamie is currently the Head Coach at Newport High School and previously coached at Sandpoint High School where he led Sandpoint to a 71-1 record in two years as volleyball coach, including back-to-back State 4A championships.

 

Jamie has coached club volleyball for many years, most recently with the Sandpoint Volleyball Club.  Jamie was an outstanding prep volleyball player in California and continues to play as an adult in the Spokane area.

 U14 Head Coach – Michelle Boevers 

Michelle returns to the Sideout Volleyball club as the coach of the U14 team after serving as the coach of the U15 team last year.  Prior to that, Michelle was an assistant coach of the Spokane Storm U16 team for two seasons.  Michelle is a redshirt senior outside hitter for the Gonzaga University volleyball team. 

 

Michelle was a multi-sport athlete who in her senior year of volleyball was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Oklahoma and was the Oklahoma State 5A Tournament MVP, leading her team to a state title. She was All-State as a junior and senior and played on a highly regarded Oklahoma Elite Club volleyball team. She selected Gonzaga after also being recruited by the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma .  

 

U14 Assistant Coach – Lindsey Petroni

Lindsey Petroni joins the coaching staff for the Sideout Volleyball Club this year as an assistant coach.  Lindsey is currently a libero/defensive specialist on the Eastern Washington University volleyball team.  Earlier this fall, Lindsey recorded 33 digs in a victory over the University of Idaho , for a career high.

Lindsey is a 2008 graduate of Mead High School where she was a two-time state champion as the starting libero.  In addition, she lettered on the Mead track team.  Lindsey played many years of club volleyball for the Spokane Splash and Sideout Volleyball clubs.

U13 Coach Nikki Thompson

Nikki Thompson joins the Sideout Volleyball Club coaching staff for the 2009/10 season.  Nikki is a 2008 graduate of Seattle University where she was a three-time all-conference outside hitter, finishing with over 1000 career kills.  In addition, she was honored as a member of the GNAC all-academic team two years and was also honored as a GNAC conference player of the week.  Nikki graduated with a BA in Psychology and is currently attending Gonzaga University pursuing a Master Degree in School Counseling.

 

Nikki served the 2008 season as the Freshman/Sophmore Head Volleyball coach and Varsity Assistant coach for Mercer Island High School .  She also has three years of experience coaching U14 and U15 teams for Northwest Juniors and Island Thunder Volleyball Clubs in the Puget Sound area. 

Nikki attended Marysville-Pilchuck where she was a three year varsity volleyball player.  Her team finished second in the State 4A tournament her senior season.

U12 Coach – Taci VanLueven

Taci returns for her third season with the Sideout Volleyball coaching staff as the head coach of the U12 team. Last year Taci coached the Sideout U12 team which won 3 tournaments.  Taci also just completed her second year on the volleyball coaching staff at Mt. Spokane High School.

Taci played for Westmont College in Santa Barbara , CA , where her team reached the Elite Eight in the NAIA National Tournament.  After undergoing shoulder surgery she continued her education at Eastern Washington University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.

Taci graduated from Mt. Spokane High School in 2002 as a three-year varsity volleyball athlete.  She was named Honorable Mention All-GSL her sophomore year and was named to the GSL All League First-Team her junior and senior years.  She also was named to the All-State team her senior year.  Taci played club volleyball for the Splash Volleyball Club and has worked at various volleyball camps during her high school and college volleyball career.

U12 Developmental Coach – Angela Brown 

Angela Brown’s passion for volleyball was sparked as a fourth grader when she joined the Patriots volleyball club in Virginia Beach , VA.   She played volleyball as a middle and defensive specialist throughout elementary, middle and high school receiving honors as team captain, MVP, and highest serving percentage, as well as district recognition.  Angela coached a summer developmental team for her alma mater and played in various college and adult recreation leagues.  Brown’s coaching philosophy mirrors her beliefs as an educator, that all children can learn if given the proper coaching/teaching, motivation and tools.   

Angela holds a Bachelor’s in English/Language Arts, a Washington state teaching certificate, and a Master of Science in Communications.  Brown works for Spokane Public Schools and currently serves as a member of the North Wall Schools Children’s Association Board.  Former board and committee service includes:  Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District VIII Board, Spokane YWCA Board, Leadership Spokane Alumni Board, Spokane Public Schools Diversity Advisory Council and the WSU Alumni Association Spokane Chapter.

Angela’s daughter Brianne, and son Anthony are both varsity athletes at Washington State University , where Brianne is a member of the women’s track team and Anthony is a freshman on the men’s basketball team.

Doris Norris - Club Director/Co-Founder of Sideout Volleyball Club 

 

Doris serves as the Assistant Volleyball Director for NBC Camps and has been the Club Director for Sideout Volleyball since it was formed.  Doris and Karen Stebbins are the co-founders of the Sideout Volleyball Club.  Karen is now serving on the Board of the Evergreen Region of USA Volleyball.

 

Coaching Experience 

 

Doris has coached Club Volleyball at the U12, U13 and U14 levels and has also served as a fill-in coach for a number of other teams at all age levels.

Playing Experience  

Whitworth College - Four year first team all-conference selection and three time Regional All-star selection at middle hitter.  Teams were undefeated in conference play all four seasons and competed in three successive AIAW Small College National Volleyball tournaments, placing 5th in the nation her junior year.  Doris and her teammates at Whitworth were inducted into the Heritage Gallery Hall of Fame in 2007.

Harrington (WA) High School - All-state basketball player, state track and field champion and three year volleyball starter.  Volleyball teams qualified for State tournament 3 years.
